Cheeky Cloth: How one Mother Unexpectly Landed a Cloth Diaper Business

Cloth diapers have come a long way since our parents and grandparents used them. But parents today still have reservations about trying them out for their children such as how much time and laundering they will take and if they are willing to part with the convenience of disposable diapers. Kaitlyn Holman is a mother to four children and also a passionate entrepreneur in the cloth diaper business. Her etsy shop, Cheeky Cloth is gaining popularity at a rapid rate and she has her whimsical and trendy prints to thank for it. Kaitlyn hopes that young mothers starting out will not hesitate to try her adorable cloth diapers.

Test Your Sense of Smell: Ten Worst Smelliest Offenders in Your Home

“Pee-yew! It stinks in here!” We all want to smell good. Entire industries are based on manufacturing products that will make our hair smell good, our bodies smell good and even our clothes. How to Love an Outdated Kitchen

My husband and I are first time home owners. Since we’ve been married we have lived on a tight budget due to paying back student loans as well as it being very expensive for us to bring our children into the world. We lived in a two bedroom apartment with our four children, but last June we bought our first home. The home was previously lived in and this is how the kitchen looked. It just didn’t feel like me. It will be quite some time before we can remodel our kitchen and bring it up to date, but I share these pictures just to show what a fresh coat of paint, which is relatively inexpensive can do for a space. I’m very happy with my kitchen now.

Old Couches and Why I Won’t Buy Microfiber Again

We have had, well I should say my husband has had, these brown microfiber couches for about ten years. Bless their hearts! They have been well loved. These couches have served our family including are four little children very well. I should start this post by saying that in no way do I expect couches to last and look nice more than ten years. Over time, my husband and I have spent lots and lots of hours scrubbing them and cleaning them up. Pinterest has several links of how to properly clean a microfiber couch so that it looks brand new. So my issue with microfiber couches is not that I expect them to last more than ten years nor is it that I think they are impossible to clean. But here is my two cents for the record.

Basic How to Get Your Parenting Articles Published

I want mommy writers to succeed. I think moms are some of the most qualified writers because they are completely immersed in basic humanity every single day as they work to raise healthy and happy children. One thing that we all share in common is we all came from a mother. Mothers can have a powerful influence on children and society. Besides, if we moms don’t write, someone else will. It’s important that we let our opinions and thoughts get out there.

Common Misconceptions about What It Will Be Like to Have Kids

My husband and I had four children in six years, including our identical twins. We love our children, and recognize that they grow so fast and this period of our lives is ever fleeting. We find joy in the moments and appreciate what a gift our children are. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t understandably overwhelmed from time to time, meaning every night between 6- 9 p.m. Dinner and bedtime – it’s got to be the witching hour. Let me explain.

Why I Will Never Again Own a Cat

Cat owners of the world, in case you haven’t noticed, your cat isn’t exactly mooning over how to win friends and influence people. When he goes outside, he doesn’t think, “I hope the other cats will like me.” When your cat is staring at his reflection in the window, he repeats Oscar Wilde’s well-known lines from “An Ideal Husband,” that “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”

I didn’t always feel this way about cats until I learned the hard way that despite a rare exception, cats are mainly there to snub people. They are the thugs of the pet world and you are likely to find at least as much kindness from an iguana as a cat. Such a claim warrants some explanation, I am sure.

Makup for Every Day – All Eye Colors and Skin Tones

L’Oreal is my go-to makeup. I love their products. This La Palette Nude 2 is a great, neutral palette that offers a little more than the others. This palette offers pinks, tans, browns and purples. The brush it comes with is fantastic and for all that you get in this beautiful package, the price is awesome, too.

Let Them Eat Candy: Halloween Traditions, Decor, Tricks and Treats

In today’s parenting culture, we have turned Halloween into a refereed event. We are so caught up in keeping our children safe and healthy and while that is good and even necessary, we aren’t letting them live these holidays the way we once did. I hear of children having to turn over their Trick-or-Treat sacks immediately for parents to sort through or ration out the candy. Public schools barely give a nod to Halloween these days, while when I was a child, we used to anticipate with great enthusiasm the Halloween parade and PTA party.
